Behind the Work
Hi, I’m Pratita — a Jakarta-based ceramic artist with a deep-rooted love for clay. My journey began in 2014 when I studied Ceramic Art at ITB, where I first discovered the quiet magic of shaping earth with my hands. Since then, clay has been my medium of choice: grounding, unpredictable, and endlessly expressive.
Over the years, my work has evolved into a conversation between function and art. I’m drawn to creating objects that live in everyday rituals — a cup that warms your morning, a plate that holds a shared meal — but with a visual language that’s personal and playful.
My signature style features hand-applied dotted patterns, a slow and meditative process that lets me explore rhythm, detail, and repetition. Each dot is placed one by one — no shortcuts — making every piece truly one of a kind.
Everything is handmade in small batches, shaped with intention and glazed with curiosity. I believe in celebrating imperfection, in honoring process, and in bringing a little bit of softness into daily life.
Thank you for taking the time to see what’s behind the work.
